The clouds of fear were seeded,
Via letterboxed advice,
As if more signs were needed,
That gamblers had thrown the dice.
And gathered round the table,
Where elites decide our fate,
Munition firms were able
To buy all who’d delegate.
They’ll bolster our defences,
Keep the peace that we deserve,
While scouring through the census
For those old enough to serve.
They’ll calm us with their curfews
Make terrorists of old folk.
Argue with their right wing news ?
They’ll delete you with one stroke.
But we know there’s more of us,
Who will not fight in their wars.
And we know we surely must
Keep protesting for our cause.

G’wan ourra dah !! Yer ‘avin’ a larf !!
It isn’t yet time to wrap in a scarf
and broken test tubes with staff wearing masks
were scenes we listed as store away tasks.
Reasons to panic, we’re not scared enough
although we’re already stashing food stuff.
Emergency actions, threats from the east
add to the turmoil from one orange beast.
Frustration burns and ire takes to the streets
sets fire to places, where logic could meet
with short sighted leaders mired in self-gain,
who’ve lost the fight to be trusted again.
Civilisation heads towards cliff-edge fall
since we lost all for one and one for all.

LAST ALBUM: “CONVERGENCE”
Dublin poet and musician Brendan Hickey released his third album of songs and poetry on March 9th 2023. The album, titled “Convergence,” features 14 tracks that showcase Hickey’s unique style of blending music with contemporary poetry.
Hickey, who hails from Dublin, has been a prominent figure in the Irish music scene for over three decades! His previous releases, “Vergions” and “Melting into Oneness,” were received warmly, and helped to cement his reputation as a talented poet and performer.
“Convergence” explores various different themes, with Hickey’s distinctive voice and poetic lyrics taking center stage. The album features collaborations with several well-known Irish musicians. Produced by Colin Scallan, it was postponed from last year due to global events. . This album was sound designed by Brendan and gives a nod to the genres of music that he has enjoyed during his three score and ten years on the planet.
